speech tomorrow!!

So i have to give a speech in class tomorrow and it has to be someone you admire and has made a change or difference in your life. Instantly tons of people came to mind. Friends, family, church members, leaders, teachers, and just so many people. Even people you don't know but you saw them do something inspirational. So before i post my  speech i wanted to thank EVERYBODY!!!!! You all have touched my life in so many ways and have helped me become who i am and where i am now! i truly am grateful for everything you have done for me.

Maybe it's because i really miss this person and what he has done.  Since i am in Utah there are thousands of missionary's and on my running route i go past the MTC.  Maybe because of that and because he is on his mission that makes him even more on my mind. Because of that i decided to share my favorite story of Alex as an example of all he's done for me and why i admire him.  So here is my speech. i am not allowed to go up with any material but i know the story like the back of my hand so hopefully i will be okay but still......pray for me.......

Alex Leavitt

My brother Alex is someone that I admire very much. Our relationship grew and grew the older we got until high school where we became the very best of friends. He was always an inspiration to me due to his unwavering courage and his strength to stand up for his beliefs no matter the cost. Alex was a three sport athlete in high school so he was popular and loved as well as respected by fellow students and faculty. He was also very big in the muscle department. Growing up my brother has always looked out for me and has been my body guard as well as best friend. Due to the fact that I had very little friends and that I was different I was often teased growing up. One year when I was a sophomore in high school these two boys in my biology would harass me every day.  I always let it roll off my back until one day I couldn’t take it any longer when they put me into tears. Running to my brother, he puffed up his chest and grew in size looking like a grizzly bear demanding in a deep voice that I point out these two guys. Pointing them out, as it wasn’t hard to find them since one had a huge Afro and the other was wearing a bright orange backpack, he began to march towards them until he stopped in his tracks and returned to his group of friends. Talking and pointing to me I heard the group of very large athletes sternly say “nobody messes with little Leavitt.”  So there went a group of the entire varsity football team and two heavy weight varsity wrestlers across the school quad following first the boy with the Afro since they had split. Our school security guard came up to me and simply asked "do I need to be worried about what your brother is doing?" I simply replied, “No he’s fine!” With a smile he said “okay, well I’m going to go take a lap behind the school where I didn’t see anything happen.” This gesture shows a lot of how my brother was very trustworthy. A few minutes pass and you see this mob emerge from the dark hallway heading to the cafeteria where you soon recognize the next victim in his bright orange backpack. The mob encircles their prey as my brother waves me over. I go and stand hiding under his arm and look at this very frightened kid. The minute he looks at me he begins to instantly break into a sweat knowing he was in trouble now. My brother puts his arm around me and says:
Alex: do you recognize her?
Boy: yes (in quiet whisper)
A: have you been harassing her?
B: (freaks out and starts going off saying it was just a joke it was just a joke!)
A: well I don’t think she found it very funny so you better get on your knees and apologize for every little thing you did
B: but I didn’t mean it!
I had told my brother before this all that the two boys have been doing to me which consisted of ripping up my homework, vandalizing my stuff, saying things such as "Canadians suck" "your stupid and Mormon and their temple needs to burn and die" as well as throwing my backpack in the garbage.
My brother informed the kid that he was Mormon and Canadian and he didn’t find it very funny. The mob who is still circling this kid start yelling "yea, and we are Mormon and Canadian and we didn’t find it funny." So they began to yell out empty threats such as "We are going to throwing a trash can and tell us if you thinks it’s funny!" The boy gets on his knees and begins to apologize saying he’s sorry. My brother then interrupted him and said "be specific." The boy lists off every mean thing he’s ever said or done to me. My brother, remaining a calm but tough statue says clearly and crispy, "this girl here is my little sister and when you mess with her you mess with me and I won’t put up with it like she does. So if I ever find out that you’ve hurt her again I will come and get you.”  The mob of guys join in says,"yea no one messes with little Leavitt.” We begin to walk back to our original spot where they

O Henry

I cant (but definitely can!) wait to have kids. I have always felt so bad getting paid to babysit because to me I'm getting paid to play! Kids make me so happy and what i love most about them is how it takes nothing to make them so happy :) for example i was babysitting the cutest little boy today and all we did was just scream at the top of our lungs and run back and forth in the garage banging into walls! it was hilarious and i even thoroughly enjoyed myself. He was having so much fun and would literally have to stop because he was laughing so much he couldn't catch his breath.  Also later after giving him a bath i was getting him dressed in his PJ's and he went into the closet and climbed up on a box with a big fluffy pillow on it and started to "fake snore" after i started laughing he stuck his up and started saying "funny! funny! " oh how i love you Henry!
I believe we can learn so much from little kids and that we need to bring out that little child in us the little child that doesn't judge anyone, sees everybody as there best friend, the little child that doesn't need t.v or Disney Land but truly not much to have a blast, the little child that truly enjoys every bit and piece of life. I love kids and love playing with them and cant wait to one day have my own. For now though ill just stick with babysitting and playing with my nephews and nieces because there amazing!!! :)

The Three Amigos

So i had an amazing weekend!!! Friday i left school early and packed up and left to head over to Ben's. Ben and i were too play as my mom went to a heritage makers convention thing. Brandon ended up being there as well because he had to take a test. So it was Brandon, Ben, and Me!

We had allot of fun together. We went out for Mexican food watched a crazy racing inspirational movie and then goofed around a little until we went to bed. We also ended up waking up at 4:30 in the morning because Brandon had a nightmare and started yelling, Ben and i on the other hand thought he had gone paralyzed because hes having back issues. So we thought he tired to roll over and ended up paralyzing himself. Nope.... just a nightmare of demands taking over his soul apparently. The next day we dropped Brandon off at his test and sweet sweet Ben took me shopping!!! :) YAY!!! shopping!!!! We ran into a guy who had the coolest cutest Parrot that he saved <3 isn't that the sweetest! it meowed said hello and much more tricks. Its name was Henry. Ben thought he'd go crazy if he had one. I think it'd be fun. After the mall we were going to go to the beach Brandon, Ben, and i  but Brandon chickened out (it ended probably being a better thing that we didn't go). SO we went to a dollar theater and saw the funniest movie ever. I forgot the name though.... Then mom and dad finished there heritage thing and we went to BJ's to celebrate Ben's birthday and it was amazing!! Some of the best food EVER!!

On the way home my friends invited me to a scary moviethon and they made sure it was just PG13 for me :) i have some of the sweetest best friends ever that always look out for me. I love them and it means allot to me that they respect my values.

FATHER AND DUAGHTER

A couple days ago when i was driving home i saw a little girl on her daddy's shoulders just smiling and holding on for dear life. He had just picked her up from school and was running bouncing and twirling with her on his shoulders. They were just glowing with joy. It reminded me of all the sweet times with my dad and how much i love him. Just all the times we have spent together. Such as father daughter camp out, dates, swing dancing, goofing around, and pulling pranks on each other, our rides to school , and all the five hundred times you've carried me on your shoulders whether literally or figuratively...

Happy Mornings! :)

Theres nothing better than just wakeing up on your own
and having the sun beaming in through the window
kicking off your covers and instead of icey air biteing at you legs
feeling the sun beams warm up your skin
and best of all just lieing there listening to the birds sing and play
whatching the light shine off the turle water onto your roof
doing its own little dance up there
its a whole little private performance there
 just for you .

I love these mornings! They set you up for just the best day ever. Nothing can ever go wrong with a morning like this to start off your day. And the day held true to this. After waking up to this magical performance i got up and got ready for church. I had a good hair day, my make up accoperated with me and for once in my life (my parents can attest) i only tried on one outfit and actualy kept it on. As church was amazing classes and talks all included. We came home and prepared dinner for my best buddy at school and his mom. Which went amazing!!!! Elena (the mom) is jsut about the funniest person ever!! You will luagh your head off and hold a smile the whole time you are around her! and as for Marco (my buddy) the best way to describe him is as a firecracker and sweet sugar all in one. You never know whats coming but hes just like a big lovable teddy bear at the same time. I really enjoyed having them both over for dinner and hope to do it again.

The day before I woreked at the Guacomle Bowl (which i highly suggest everyone to go to next year) it was AMAZING!!!!!!! and tons of fun. I made a new friend there and really enjoyed helping out! My job was to stamp peoples hand give them a bag of chips and a pamphlet as well as answer any questions they had. I had alot of fun and everybody was soo nice. Also a nice benefit was that there was actualy ALOT of cute guys there and working my specific job I got to see every single one come in. Towards the end I helped set up for the cook off and smash boxes in the kitchen to recycle. I loved helping out I just wish I knew about it sooner and that I could do it next year which i wont beable to do becuase ill be in college. But theres new adventures for me at college and anyone who can go to this, I HIGHLY suggest you do!
 :)
Just remember happy mornings set you up for a perfact day and there dosnt have to be a magical performance there to have one, but it sure is a treat when it does happen.

FREE TRUCK ANYONE?

Now i understand that basically 99% of society would describe there life as busy, well i fall under that 99%. My basic everyday schedule goes from 5:30 to 10. So i will use the common phrase " i was just out of it as my excuse."
So i got home from practice a few days ago just headover heels becuase i have OFFICIALY started the coolest most awsome sport known to mankind as *drum role please* HURDLES!!!! So i rushed into the house took a shower and started my homework. As i sat on the computer working my dad walks in the door.
mom: Hey Fred i need you to do.....
dad: (completley ignores my mom and walks staright to me)
me: (frantically makinga list in my head of what he could be upset about and coming up with nothing too bad)
mom: whats wrong??
dad: your coming with me my dear
me: ok
(we both walk out the door and mom is very confused)
he then walks me to my truck and points at the door
dad: are you trying to give the truck away??
there in the door dangled bright pink flowered/ sparkly princess full set of keys in the door...... ooops!!!
i personally claim the im out of it excuse ethier way i almost gave our truck away which woul have been very bad and as my dad said later on i didnt just leave the key in the door but i left a very big flag on it with all the pink and sparkles...

My Bucket List

Everyone thinks I'm too young to have a bucket list but i figured you could never be too young to have one since isn't the point of a bucket list to accomplish things before you die? and i figure that's probably easier to do the younger you are! Now i haven't actually ever written my bucket list its always just sorta been in my head and as i see things i just add to my list. From now on ill just add things to this post as they come up and as for now ill just put down all i can remember :) Now some and maybe most are probably not very realistic and others just weird or dumb, but hey its my list!

Cute moments

Since Ive been home theirs been three cute moments :)

First is that dad had set the table all very pretty and nice (there was even candles involved) for mom and i when we got home, it was very nice and sweet. On our place were cute homemade valentines day cards. There was a cute picture on the front and inside and a even sweeter and cuter poem in it. Fro those of you who don't know my dad is an amazing poet I'm not lieing or over exaggerating!! i do not know how a mathematician is equally blessed with the gift of words but he was double blessed with that. I absolutely loved the poem and plan on keeping it forever.

The second sweet moment is Ben gave me a recess valentine when i walked in the door! thank you Ben!

and Thirdly is i love my cat Sheba!!! We have a routine we do every night. Where we are litterly each others little cuddle buddys everynight. She follows me as i get ready for bed and as crawl into my sheets she comes up by my head and just curls into me and sleeps with me untill im asleep. While i was gone i really missed my cuddle buddy it actualy got to the point of me cuddling with my blankets!!! And from what i hear from Dad apperantly she missed me to haha. But anyways last night we did our little routine except this time she crawled under my arm and gave me the sweetest cutest little kiss on the cheek. it was almost as if it was her way of saying i missed you. She then layed her head down and fell asleep curled up in my arms <3 i love that cat! and will miss her soo much when i  leave!

As for today... it was quite entertainging. Other than the fact i was very giddy to be back home at school (wierd i know but i love school!!!) I was told off  about being Mormen( a first for me) , got to view some entertaining drama going on at school ( not involved in thank goodness) , and the best of all i got to reunite with my amazing great old track friends :) ive missed track soooo much it is my favortie sport above all others and wil miss it dearly when i go to college. I know theres a high chance i wont make the track team at UVU but if i did, that would literally be a dream come true.

Home Sweet Home

Well hello! I have never been good at keeping a journal so my new goal is to hopefully keep this blog up to date even if it is just a little bit a day. I think i have about a dozen of half filled journals, but ever since girls camp a couple years ago i have been pretty constant at keeping one. But hey better late then never right? I may also  warn you that my grammar and spelling is atrocious but i promise to do my best.

Well to kick off this blog i guess i will give you a long story short of my VER BUSY not much fun but very productive good week. I had presidants week off from school so mom and i went up to Utah to look at my options for school. We seriously were up at 7am gone by 7:30 and home by 8 at night if not later. My college options were BYU, U of U, UVU. Utah Valley was my top choice and by friday the school i was going to go to. No doubts about it! But then i met with the lady from Utah State who threw a wrench in my plans. ( dont get  me wrong she was just the cutest sweetest most helpfull lady ever, i actualy loved her)

Growing up i had always known that i wanted to do one of  two things which is either be an Elementary School teacher or a Special Ed teacher. Later on after many great opportunity's of working with kids with disability's  i know that this is my calling God gave me. I was sent to earth to work with these amazing daughters and sons of God. My plan was to attend Utah Valley University and after my first two years enter a distance program Utah State offered where i could stay at Utah Valley and get my degree in special ed. This would have been perfect since my Sophomore Year Alex would be back from his mission and attending University of Utah and most likely Alycia nad Trevor would be at BYU. But as it turns out the distance program is only for Mild to Moderate ( for those who don't know that would be learning stratergies level kids who are high functioning) i want to work with kids that are severe (low functioning) . But that program is only offered at the school in Logan.

I now have a choice that ive got to make which is very hard, here are my options:

Option One: Attend the Utah Valley for two years then transfer over to Utah State.
Option two: Attend Utah Valley for one year then transfer to Utah State
Option Three: Go straight to Utah State

Once i got home i made a pros and cons list of each school.

UVU
pros: 2
-Nearby my siblings
-great school
-oppurtunity to run Track (the track coach talked to me when i was there (:  )
- smaller
- good provider for my needs
cons: 1
-would have to transfer after two years meaning i would have to leave friends made there

USU
 Pros: 1
- Wouldnt have to transfer meaning not having to leave my friends
-somewhat close to my siblings
- provides my program ( actualy top 15 int he nation and best in all of Utah for there special ed program)
- college town
-heard to be pretty

Cons: 2
- hour and 10mins from siblings
- no track oppurtunity

Though this is a very hard decision to make i have a strong testimony in Prayer and i know what ever option i choose will work out some way for me. Plus i am very excited to be nearby my siblings when i go and look forward to it alot. I am also just SO HAPPY to be home i missed it alot. I hadnt seen my dad for two weeks and missed him alot. But this trip DEFINATLY made me be very gratefull for the mom i had. She had first sacraficed the amazing oppurtunity to go see Germany with my dad and was above and beyond oragnized and had everything planned and ready for the trip. She had set up all the appointments needed for the whole week had every file there in her hand copys made and all that they would ever need and had done her research for all so knew what to ask and what to get done beforer i believe they even knew. But hey that is my super hero mommy!!! i will definatly miss her when i go to college.

While we where there we stayed with the Sanchezes. I LOVE THAT FAMILY!!! i use to baby sit their five little girls and it is just CRAZY! to see how beautifull and grown up theyve become. Brianna was the sweetest amd stayed up late with me lots to play and talk and Molly mayed the best dinenr and breakfasts ever and and sweet Laurel gave up her room for us. The on the way back we decided to split up the trip and stop for the night in St. George where we stayed with Sister Havertz who bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and our needs where taken careof. She was so sweet and so cute and jsut hilarious and fun to be with. Tahnk you to all those that help everything get to togethar and done what needed to be done. I am just so happy to finanly be home and actualy very excited to go to school tomorrow. Track tryouts are as well starting tomorrow wooohooo!!! GO HURDLES!!!!
