Home Sweet Home

Well hello! I have never been good at keeping a journal so my new goal is to hopefully keep this blog up to date even if it is just a little bit a day. I think i have about a dozen of half filled journals, but ever since girls camp a couple years ago i have been pretty constant at keeping one. But hey better late then never right? I may also  warn you that my grammar and spelling is atrocious but i promise to do my best.

Well to kick off this blog i guess i will give you a long story short of my VER BUSY not much fun but very productive good week. I had presidants week off from school so mom and i went up to Utah to look at my options for school. We seriously were up at 7am gone by 7:30 and home by 8 at night if not later. My college options were BYU, U of U, UVU. Utah Valley was my top choice and by friday the school i was going to go to. No doubts about it! But then i met with the lady from Utah State who threw a wrench in my plans. ( dont get  me wrong she was just the cutest sweetest most helpfull lady ever, i actualy loved her)

Growing up i had always known that i wanted to do one of  two things which is either be an Elementary School teacher or a Special Ed teacher. Later on after many great opportunity's of working with kids with disability's  i know that this is my calling God gave me. I was sent to earth to work with these amazing daughters and sons of God. My plan was to attend Utah Valley University and after my first two years enter a distance program Utah State offered where i could stay at Utah Valley and get my degree in special ed. This would have been perfect since my Sophomore Year Alex would be back from his mission and attending University of Utah and most likely Alycia nad Trevor would be at BYU. But as it turns out the distance program is only for Mild to Moderate ( for those who don't know that would be learning stratergies level kids who are high functioning) i want to work with kids that are severe (low functioning) . But that program is only offered at the school in Logan.

I now have a choice that ive got to make which is very hard, here are my options:

Option One: Attend the Utah Valley for two years then transfer over to Utah State.
Option two: Attend Utah Valley for one year then transfer to Utah State
Option Three: Go straight to Utah State

Once i got home i made a pros and cons list of each school.

UVU
pros: 2
-Nearby my siblings
-great school
-oppurtunity to run Track (the track coach talked to me when i was there (:  )
- smaller
- good provider for my needs
cons: 1
-would have to transfer after two years meaning i would have to leave friends made there

USU
 Pros: 1
- Wouldnt have to transfer meaning not having to leave my friends
-somewhat close to my siblings
- provides my program ( actualy top 15 int he nation and best in all of Utah for there special ed program)
- college town
-heard to be pretty

Cons: 2
- hour and 10mins from siblings
- no track oppurtunity

Though this is a very hard decision to make i have a strong testimony in Prayer and i know what ever option i choose will work out some way for me. Plus i am very excited to be nearby my siblings when i go and look forward to it alot. I am also just SO HAPPY to be home i missed it alot. I hadnt seen my dad for two weeks and missed him alot. But this trip DEFINATLY made me be very gratefull for the mom i had. She had first sacraficed the amazing oppurtunity to go see Germany with my dad and was above and beyond oragnized and had everything planned and ready for the trip. She had set up all the appointments needed for the whole week had every file there in her hand copys made and all that they would ever need and had done her research for all so knew what to ask and what to get done beforer i believe they even knew. But hey that is my super hero mommy!!! i will definatly miss her when i go to college.

While we where there we stayed with the Sanchezes. I LOVE THAT FAMILY!!! i use to baby sit their five little girls and it is just CRAZY! to see how beautifull and grown up theyve become. Brianna was the sweetest amd stayed up late with me lots to play and talk and Molly mayed the best dinenr and breakfasts ever and and sweet Laurel gave up her room for us. The on the way back we decided to split up the trip and stop for the night in St. George where we stayed with Sister Havertz who bent over backwards to make sure we were happy and our needs where taken careof. She was so sweet and so cute and jsut hilarious and fun to be with. Tahnk you to all those that help everything get to togethar and done what needed to be done. I am just so happy to finanly be home and actualy very excited to go to school tomorrow. Track tryouts are as well starting tomorrow wooohooo!!! GO HURDLES!!!!
